Two weeks ago, on May 26-28, 2025, the cadex 10th Anniversary Celebration grandly opened at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Hongqiao, Shanghai. Over 20 renowned architects and interior designers, along with leading industry media and professional material suppliers from China, the UK, Italy, Germany, and beyond, gathered for a dynamic exchange through keynote speeches and panel discussions. The first day of the A&D Conference centered on the theme "Questing Delight and Well-being in Design." Top designers from the industry were invited to present outstanding professional case studies, engaging the audience in discussions on forward-thinking design concepts and emerging trends. They shared how, through their practice and creative work, they pursue joy and a sense of well-being in design.

Nathan Hou, Founder and Design Director of Nothing Studio, took the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France as a point of departure to explore how French art de vivre can be integrated into contemporary spatial narratives through a series of rich design case studies.

Peter Ippolito, Managing Partner and Creative Director of Ippolito Fleitz Group (IFG), challenged conventional design thinking with his concept of “collage thinking,” unveiling new inspirations and possibilities for dynamic and vibrant workplace design.

Shirley Dong, Founder of Studio 8 Architects, explored how emotional resonance influences design decisions and shapes the final spatial experience. Through real project case studies, she illustrated how circulation, material tactility, and light-and-shadow interplay can respond to the individuality of the occupants and their pursuit of happiness.

Jin Xin , Co-founder and Design Director of Greater Dog spoke on the theme “Experience: Joy and Delight”, sharing a series of award-winning projects to illustrate how vibrant colors and materials can evoke a sense of pleasure and spark creativity in users.

Edoardo Nieri, Founder and Design Director of Atelier Meadow, shared several public building projects, including the Chengdu REDGE Contemporary Art Center, illustrating how design can create “breathing spaces” that redefine the boundaries between nature and architecture.

Tianyi Gu, Studio Lead & Director, BDP, China, illustrated the design philosophy of “creating happiness through human-centered design” using the Liverpool Children’s Hospital project as a case study.

圆桌论坛“她设计,自在出色”掀起高潮——陈益涵、葛露佳、李芸芸、廖嘉喻、虞梦雯五位女性设计师,以“色彩心理学”“空间情绪”为关键词,探讨女性视角如何为商业设计注入细腻温度。设计不应区分性别,但女性对“隐性需求”的敏锐,能让空间更懂人心。

The Panel Discussion “She Designs: In Colorful Excellence” reached its climax with five female designers —  Nicole Chen , Millie  Ge,  Grace Li,  Jiayu Liao, and Zoe Yu. Focusing on keywords like “color psychology” and “spatial emotions,” they explored how the female perspective brings subtle warmth to commercial design. While design should transcend gender, women’s sensitivity to “unspoken needs” enables spaces to better understand and resonate with people.

AD&Brands Conference, themed “Enjoy Design! For a Re-enchanted Space” , brought together leading material brands and active top-tier designers from China to share the stage. Using design as a bridge, the seminar explored the application of color and materials in spaces, delving deep into how design enhances life quality and enriches emotional value. By connecting cutting-edge technology with advanced design concepts, the conference collectively explored the idea of “joyful and excellent design” to reinvent captivating spaces.

深圳市犀照网络科技有限公司总经理,黄栩君以“设计师与AI:魅力空间的完美搭档”开场,演示AI算法如何在设计过程中协助设计师高效完成从硬装改色到软装家居搭配的全流程;上海豪摩尔智能家居有限公司品牌经理,魏巍则以意大利地板迷人的纹理回应当下客户对家居建材关于自然与品质的追求。GN栖城设计设计总监,黄勇结合银发时代背景,以丰富案例分享康养项目设计如何从“共情到共生”,为老年人也提供“可跳,可俏”的生活体验。

Connie, CEO of Shenzhen Raritag Network Technology Co., Ltd., opened the session with the topic “Designers and AI: The Perfect Partners for Captivating Spaces”, demonstrating how AI algorithms assist designers throughout the entire process—from hardscape color modifications to soft furnishing coordination—improving efficiency. Irvin, Brand Manager of Shanghai HOMORE Intelligent Home Co., Ltd, responded to current customer demands for naturalness and quality in home building materials by showcasing the charming textures of Italian flooring. Huang Yong, Design Director of GN Architects, drawing on the context of the aging society, shared rich case studies on wellness project design, illustrating how to move from empathy to symbiosis, creating living experiences for seniors that are both lively and elegant.

浙江永裕家居股份有限公司国内营销总监,李琳发布“地墙一体化”数字系统,通过对永裕丰富的产品系列介绍,为设计师观众们呈现更多地墙一体化设计可能;浙江森林之星文化地板有限公司创始人,徐伟以“超越材质的对话: 文化地板如何建构魅力空间和情绪价值“为题,通过多系列文化地板产品的介绍,展现文化符号如何成为空间的情绪锚点,以设计回应千年文明积淀。必美国际集团(香港)有限公司品牌运营总监,谭天谦 以“唯木,赋予空间生命力”为主题,重新诠释木材的当代叙事,展示如何以技术激活传统材料的潜能。

Judy , Marketing Director of Zhejiang Yongyu Bamboo Joint-stock Co., Ltd, introduced the “Integrated Floor and Wall” digital system, showcasing Yongyu’s extensive product range and presenting designers with more possibilities for integrated floor-wall design.  Xu Wei , Founder of Starforest ArtFlooring(Zhejiang) Co., Ltd., spoke on the theme “Dialogue Beyond Materials: How Cultural Flooring Constructs Captivating Spaces and Emotional Value.” Through multiple series of cultural flooring products, he demonstrated how cultural symbols serve as emotional anchors within spaces, responding to millennia of civilization through design.Patrick Tam, Director of Branding from Beamy International Holding (H.K) Co., Ltd., presented under the theme “Only Wood, Breathing Life into Spaces,” reinterpreting the contemporary narrative of wood and showcasing how technology can activate the potential of traditional materials.

来自匠铸三维的3D打印建筑师&设计师,赵子晗以“游牧建筑”概念颠覆传统——可拆卸3D打印模块组成的居住空间在材研设现场也吸引了众多设计师打卡关注;来自Pulse Living的品牌营销顾问,王丽娜则用皮革重塑空间边界,为我们介绍Cierre品牌历史与设计故事。

Zhao Zihan,Architect & Designer from Jiangzhu 3D Technology Co.,Ltd,, challenged tradition with the concept of “Nomadic Architecture” — a living space composed of detachable 3D-printed modules that attracted significant attention from designers at the Materials Research and Design site. Alina Wang , Brand Marketing Consultant from Pulse Living, redefined spatial boundaries using leather and introduced the history and design story of the Cierre brand.

圆桌论坛由cadex携手cdclub设计师俱乐部共同举办,论坛集结中国流行色协会家居色彩研究院副院长沈晓莲、上海威罗环保新材料有限公司总裁邹本龙、德度建筑设计咨询(上海)有限公司亚洲区负责人碧雅、大墅尚品装饰创始人由伟壮、O.A.O空间联合设计创始人皮敦伟,以不同角度,从代际差异的色彩平衡、色彩与材质碰撞的空间灵感、色彩的情绪定制与商业价值等多个方面展开分享。

The Panel Discussion was jointly hosted by cadex and cadex designers club, the Panel Discussion brought together distinguished experts including Lilian, Vice Dean of CFCA·HCRI; Simone Zou , CEO of Shanghai VERYLUX; Bea, Asia Regional Director for DEDODESIGN; Weizhuang You, Founder of Dashushangpin; and Dunwei Pi, Founder of O.A.O. From various perspectives, they shared insights on topics such as intergenerational color balance, the spatial inspiration from the collision of color and materials, emotional customization of color, and its commercial value.

2025年cadex材研设展区以一场打破边界的材质实验,再次成为行业焦点。在大犬建筑事务所的策展架构下,材料展示与应用、家居创意展陈、创新材料Lab区、Floating Solid材料艺术装置及创意快闪区,五大板块通过不同材料与多品类家居产品跨界融合,构建起品牌、设计师与专业观众的深度对话场域。

The 2025 cadex Materials Matters once again became an industry focal point with a boundary-breaking material experiment. Curated by Greater Dog, the exhibition featured five major sections: Material Display and Application, Floating Solid, Creative Display, Creative Spots, and Lab. These sections integrated diverse materials and multi-category home products across disciplines, creating a deep dialogue platform for brands, designers, and professional visitors.

材料展示与应用区突破传统陈列思维,通过艺术化场景构建、跨学科技术融合及沉浸式交互体验,让地板、涂料等基础材料蜕变为空间美学的核心叙事者。

The Material Display and Application Zone breaks traditional exhibition concepts by creating artistic scenes, integrating interdisciplinary technologies, and offering immersive interactive experiences, transforming fundamental materials like flooring and coatings into the core narrators of spatial aesthetics.

意大利豪摩尔地板展区

意大利豪摩尔地板以艺术拼花地面构建“行走的展厅”,艺术拼花地板结合迷人的触感,在展区形成艺术挂画,吸引设计师驻足。

Italian HOMORE Flooring created a “walking showroom” with artistic parquet floors. The artistic parquet, combined with its captivating texture, formed art-like wall displays within the exhibition area, attracting designers to stop and admire.

威罗意大利进口涂料展区

威罗意大利进口涂料以整面渐变色谱墙掀起视觉革命——大理石纹、金属光泽、自然肌理与磨砂质感交织,展现色彩与纹理对空间情绪的多元塑造。专业团队现场解析色号与商业场景的适配逻辑,为设计师匹配酒店、零售空间等真实案例,从色卡到落地,无缝衔接设计灵感与商业需求。

VERYLUX Italian imported coatings sparked a visual revolution with a full-gradient color spectrum wall—interweaving marble patterns, metallic sheen, natural textures, and matte finishes to showcase the diverse ways color and texture shape spatial moods. A professional team provided on-site analysis of color codes and their suitability for commercial settings, matching designers with real-world cases such as hotels and retail spaces. From color swatches to implementation, they seamlessly connected design inspiration with commercial needs.

悦百家缅甸柚木地板展区

在策展人的设计中,悦百家缅甸柚木地板颠覆传统印象,以镜面金属与高饱和色块碰撞柚木本色,诠释极简美学,年轮肌理在光影中化作空间诗行。

In the curator’s design, Yuebaijia Myanmar teak flooring breaks traditional impressions by combining mirrored metal and high-saturation color blocks with the natural tone of teak, interpreting minimalist aesthetics. The grain texture transforms into poetic spatial lines under the interplay of light and shadow.

German paint brand SCHÖNER WOHNEN-Farbe, as the coatings partner of the Material Matters, used the exhibition’s exterior wall as a canvas. Through a rich color system combined with materials such as flooring, 3D-printed architecture, ceramics, and cork, they showcased the symbiotic aesthetics between paint and diverse materials.

家居创意展区将充满设计感的家居/办公家具产品与优质地材地毯、墙纸、布艺等优质材料搭配,以场景化形式打造以家居家具为主题的多品类融合展示区,共绘品牌破圈发展新蓝图!cadex 2025邀请到意大利高端家具领域的代表,Cierre(琦艾意)携其标志性皮具家居系列到现场展示,以创意展陈点亮家居空间设计新灵感!

Creative Display combines stylish home and office furniture products with premium materials such as flooring, carpets, wallpaper, and textiles, create a scene-based, multi-category integrated display zone themed around home furnishings and furniture, collaboratively shaping a new blueprint for brand expansion beyond boundaries! cadex 2025 invites Cierre, a leading brand in Italy’s high-end furniture sector, to showcase its iconic leather home collection onsite—igniting fresh design inspiration for home interiors with a creative exhibition experience!

2025,Floating Solid材料艺术装置以3D打印技术为媒介,邀请到知名3D打印建筑师&设计师赵子晗带来以共享居住为主题的3D打印系列房屋作品,本次活动也是该系列作品的首次亮相。这些房屋采用3D打印的可循环材料,通过模组化成型,创造出有机形态的结构。其内部家具可根据个人喜好定制,并且与建筑表皮的曲面完美契合。这种可迁移的房屋为人们在不同环境背景下体验居住提供了新的可能性。作为BUILD ASIA Mega show亚洲建筑及装饰联展设计驱动,cadex致力于将前沿技术与先进设计理念相结合,为设计师们提供可持续设计的灵感来源。

The Floating Solid material art installation use 3D printing technology as its medium, featuring a series of 3D-printed housing works themed around co-living, presented by renowned 3D printing architect and designer Zhao Zihan. This marks the debut of the series. The houses are built using recyclable 3D-printed materials and modular construction techniques, forming organically shaped structures. The interior furnishings are fully customizable and seamlessly integrated with the building’s curved surfaces. This type of mobile housing offers new possibilities for residential experiences across diverse environmental contexts.As a design-driven segment of the BUILD ASIA Mega Show — Asia’s leading architecture and decoration exhibition — cadex is committed to combining cutting-edge technology with advanced design thinking, providing designers with ongoing inspiration for sustainable design.

创新材料Lab区及创意快闪区作为材研设展区向来最受欢迎的区域,此次lab展区仍继续展示材研设各参展品牌旗下独具设计或技术含量的创新材料,免费提供材料小样给专业设计师。创意快闪区迎来PAINTIQUE与卡洛林软木两个品牌,以精美的家居装饰为观众呈现“看得见的品质生活”提案。

The Lab and Creative Spots have always been among the most popular areas of the Materials Matters. This year, the Lab  continues to showcase innovative materials from participating brands, each distinguished by unique design or advanced technology, with free material samples offered to professional designers. The  Creative Spots welcomed brands PAINTIQUE and Cork IMAGE, presenting refined home decor pieces that embody the concept of a "visible quality of life" for the audience.

The 2025 cadex 10th Anniversary Special Events ignited the enthusiasm of design lovers and professional visitors alike. The “Perfect 10” vouchers helped attendees take home great design at great prices, while the “Perfect 10” lucky draw brought extra excitement — with limited-edition handmade rugs and geometric carpets sponsored by Hongjia Carpets, lucky winners walked away with delightful surprises.

Over the course of three days, the exhibition attracted a large number of interior designers, architects, real estate developers, material suppliers, and media professionals for visits and exchanges. From raw materials to spatial solutions, from design ideologies to consumer trends, cadex created a dialogue platform that is both forward-thinking and highly practical. On social media, cadex received widespread praise and enthusiastic engagement — the hashtag “#DiscoverGreatDesignat cadex” garnered over 15,000 views on RED . Exhibitor feedback further confirmed the unique value of the Materials Research and Design section — not only as a stage for debuting new products, but also as an accelerator where design innovation transforms into commercial value.
