这次设计作品的业主是一个简单的三口之家，爸爸妈妈和一个7岁大的女儿，他们住在上海郊外的一栋独立私宅，业主喜好旅游，以及在途中收集有趣的事物，希望有一个干净的厨房空间作为全家人周末享受亲子时光的主要场景。
考虑到一家人都喜好色彩斑斓的物品，因此在厨房空间尽量用最少的颜色，去衬托主人的物品；柜体、门板和操作面收口全部斜角拼合，在端口导小圆角，用简约的细节给空间带来平和的气氛；开启方式全部选择了Blum的机械触碰式开关，关闭带静音阻尼，做到单手轻松取得工具，轻松打开抽屉分类垃圾，使操作更简单从容。
原先整个厨房空间有一半会在墙面转角处，考虑到业主烹饪方式的多样性，正好将空间分为轻食料理区和一个半封闭的中式料理空间。轻食料理区与客餐厅互通打开，与下沉式庭院用玻璃门隔断，中式料理区与庭院用窗户隔断，增加亲子互动。
从可持续发展的角度出发，柜体和近一半的门板都选择了一款用回收塑料制成的新型板材。因此从长远的角度看这个项目是大大降低了成本，橱柜含五金部分总预算可以控制在4-5万之内。
